Breast cancer affects everyone our friends, our neighbors, our own families.  Join us as we sing for the cause on December 2^nd at The Stanhope House in Stanhope, NJ

"SONGS FOR THE CAUSE," now in its third year, will again feature top talent to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research, as well as showcase some of the areas best in music. The concerts have already raised over $20,000.00 for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation - North Jersey Affiliate.   The Komen Foundation (http://www.njakomen.org ) is now in its 23rd year, and they remain dedicated in their fight to advance breast cancer research, education, screening and treatment.

The event is being organized by Morris County songwriter Deb Ferrara whose own sister, Lynn, died of breast cancer in November 2000.  "When Lynn was sick, I was searching the Internet and found the Komen Foundations website," says Ferrara.  "It had been founded by Nancy Brinker after she lost her sister, Suzy Komen, to breast cancer.  "A sister doing for a sister needless to say, it stuck with me The Power of a Promise," she says, recalling the Foundations slogan.

SONGS FOR THE CAUSE 2005 will feature some of the finest bands/artists from the tri-state area performing a 4-hour live show.  The event will take place at The Stanhope House in Stanhope, NJ.   Artists confirmed to appear are:  Boxcar Nancy, The Catholic Girls, Dana Parish, Deb Ferrara, The Grip Weeds,  Matt Angus.   Audience members will receive a commemorative program, Komen goody bag and CD sampler, featuring songs by each artist with their entrance donation.  Our celebrity auction this year will feature items autographed by  Norah Jones, Gavin DeGraw, Carole King, Pink, Melissa Etheridge, Maroon 5, Beyonce, George Thorogood, Bon Jovi and more.  Concert goers can also bid on a guitar autographed by U2's THE EDGE.
